Word Search: from controls to your first round

Open Word Search, check the instructions and begin a round. Find every listed word in a 10×10 grid. Use the example below to understand a decision. Choose a comfortable screen position before beginning. Look at what changes after your first action.

Each board contains eight target words from the included English word list.

Practice beyond the first move

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Refer to the controls when needed.

Understand the aim

Find every listed word in a 10×10 grid. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Take a moment to understand the current position.

Start here and follow along

  1. Select the first and last letter of a straight word.
  2. Words can run horizontally, vertically or diagonally, in either direction.
  3. Find all eight targets.
  4. New puzzle shuffles again.

Controls

Tap or click endpoints. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

A useful example

Selecting the endpoints in reverse order also finds the same word. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Look for the relevant detail.

Check this before moving on

Words cannot turn corners. Check the rule before repeating the action. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
